VELMA Law was founded on 1 May 2012 by:

  • Victoria Makani, who was requested by the Government in July 2015 to become a Justice of the High Court of Tanzania and as a consequence was required to resign from this firm which she had so carefully nurtured; and
  • Nicholas Zervos, until 2006 a London based finance and international projects partner who has been advising in Dar es Salaam since 2006 and was admitted to the bar in Tanzania in 2011.
